Why Did You Make It?
The social media landscape changed quite abruptly when Twitter became X, which led to an exodus to other social platforms including Mastodon and Bluesky.
Organisations have been very slow to adapt to the new landscape and likely will remain attached to the older platforms for a while. Bots like this can fill in the gap for those who have already moved.
The bot also has the advantage of having all statuses in one place instead of spread over multiple accounts, making it easier to plan your journey.
How Does it Work?
The bot simply posts updates found on the STM and REM status pages. It also posts a morning and afternoon update.
Will You Support Bus Service Status?
Bus services tend to be local or hyperlocal in nature, meaning updates would be useful only to a small number of followers. For bus information I would recommend using Transit App, which lets you subscribe to updates for specific bus routes.
